The third day (Exodus 19:11) of the third month (Exodus 19:1) of the Biblical New Year (Exodus 12:2) commemorates the Covenant of the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20) between God and Mankind.

On the third day of the third month of the Biblical New Year, Joshua commemorated the Covenant of the Ten Commandments and built an altar at mount Ebal and read all the words of the "law" before all the congregation of Israel (Joshua 8:30-35), as commanded by God through Moses (Deuteronomy 27:4-8).

Few are aware that Moses directed that at the end of every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles, that the "law" be read before all Israel (Deuteronomy 31:10-13).

So very few know of these Truths revealed in the Bible and the significance of the Covenant of the Ten Commandments -- do YOU know of these Truths?

When is the third day of the third month of the Biblical New Year?

On Man's Gregorian 2023 calendar, the third day of the third month of the Biblical New Year is from sunset on 22 May through the sunset on 23 May 2023 as observed from Jerusalem, Israel as depicted in the calendar below.

On this anniversary day of the Covenant of the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20) take the time to READ YOUR BIBLE and familiarize yourself about God's commandments.

What is a Covenant? - A covenant is a formal binding agreement, a solemn promise, an unbreakable oath, between consenting parties of their own freewill choice.

Ask yourself, by your own freewill choice do you abide and honor God's Covenant of the Ten Commandments? Do you believe Jesus's blood was shed for many for the remission of sins (Matthew 26:28) and that whosoever believeth in Jesus should not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:15)? Do you truly love Jesus enough to abide by His statement, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." (John 14:15)?

What are the Ten Commandments? The phrase "ten commandments" are mentioned in Exodus 34:28, Deuteronomy 4:13, and Deuteronomy 10:4, and are stated very clearly and in plain and simple language in Exodus 20 and are restated again in Deuteronomy 5 -- take the time to read and contemplate of them.

Are you aware of Jesus's statements in Matthew 5:17-19:

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Are you aware of Jesus's statement in John 14:15:

If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Propagated by the great deceiver is the falsehood that God's commandments are null and void, as the "old law" was replaced by the "new law" of Christ due to "nailing it to his cross" (Colossians 2:14); as misrepresented from the writings of Paul. The fallacy of this deception was foretold and warned about in 2 Peter 3:15-17:

And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

Read again the plain and simple words of Jesus (Matthew 5:17-19) -- Jesus, without doubt, fulfilled the prophecies and the Law according to the will of God. However, Jesus clearly stated NOTHING would "pass from the law" until "all be fulfilled" AND "Till heaven and earth pass" (meaning pass away - no longer exist), of which both conditions have not been fulfilled. Next Jesus states, "whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." which clearly indicates those who are obedient to God's commandments are highly regarded in "the kingdom of heaven"; clearly indicating heaven is still going to exist -- as God is of Spirit and Eternal.

The Truth revealed in Revelation 11:19, "And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament" clearly dispels this deception as the "ark of his testament" is the container of the "two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God" (Exodus 31:18) - the Covenant of the Ten Commandments  "written in stone" - unchanging, unalterable, and of eternal duration.

So very few can discern the basis and foundation of God's forthcoming righteous Day of Judgement is the Law, "written with the finger of God", upon which ALL shall be judged by, and God has "committed all judgment" (John 5:22, John 5:27) unto His Son, Jesus Christ; "for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ." (Romans 14:10)

Jesus was very clear about "commandments" in His statement, "This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." (Matthew 15:8-9)

Jesus emphasized, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Matthew 7:21-23)

Do you truly believe that a change to a Covenant initiated by God, verbally spoken by God (Exodus 20), then written by God twice in stone (Exodus 24:12, Exodus 34:28), would be changed and announced by someone else other than God, Himself?

As Jesus was perfectly obedient to God's commandments, Jesus never changed, diminished, or revoked any of God's commandments, in truth the Bible reveals Jesus summarized, clarified, and expounded on them. Search diligently the Bible yourself for the Truth, heed not to the opinions, interpretations, or deceptions of anyone, for your freewill choice determines your eternity. "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." (1 Thessalonians 5:21)

Jesus summarized God's Covenant of the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20) in terms of Love in Matthew 22:36-40:

Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

This is the first and great commandment.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

The Love that God and Jesus manifest is incomprehensible to most. Few can look forth from their own eyes and realize each and every individual they encounter is loved equally and immeasurably by God and Jesus, as they themselves are. If one (and all) could manifest the same Love that God and Jesus emanate for all, sin would not exist, and Laws would be meaningless and not required, maybe this is Jesus's intended meaning.

♥ And God spake all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. (Exodus 20:1-2, Deuteronomy 5:6)

♥ Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Exodus 20:3, Deuteronomy 5:7)

Jesus expounds on God's commandment in Matthew 22:37,  Mark 12:30, Luke 10:27 as follows:

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Jesus's living example of His reverence for God is revealed in Matthew 6:9-13:

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

The Bible reveals that Jesus prayed only to God, the Father, and set the example for ALL to follow. Jesus stated, "Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." (Matthew 4:10) Jesus clearly instructed how to pray and whom to pray to in Matthew 6:5-6:

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Jesus clearly elevated God above Himself and emphasized obedience to God's commandments when He stated, "Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments." (Matthew 19:17)

In today's modern world, many that claim and profess faith, worship and pray to multitudes of Manmade and venerated "gods" instead of the one true God; despite God's commandment and Jesus's example. One only needs to review Man's worldwide list of saints, martyrs, deities, etc. to understand how perverse and blasphemous this practice has become. If one prays or worships to any other than the one true God, one violates this commandment and has justly earned the full wrath of God by their own freewill choice.

So very few believe what the Bible reveals so plainly and clearly in 1 Timothy 2:5, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;"

♥ Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. (Exodus 20:4-6, Deuteronomy 5:8-10)

Physical items that are intended to represent an object, symbol, icon, image, likeness, etc., that is used to facilitate worship or prayer is considered a graven image. God is not of the physical but of the Spirit and how to worship and pray to God is clearly revealed in John 4:23-24, which states, "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."

Jesus stated, "But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking." (Matthew 6:7) Physical objects like prayer beads, rosaries, etc., are all representative of objects that use repetitive phrases that do not promote worship in spirit or truth, as the true intentions of one's heart are not revealed openly to God.

Understand: God grants "mercy" to those that "love me, and keep my commandments".

♥ Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. (Exodus 20:7, Deuteronomy 5:11)

Jesus expounds on God's commandment in Matthew 5:33-37 as follows:

Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

♥ Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. (Exodus 20:8-11, Deuteronomy 5:12-15)

Jesus's living example testifies to His obedience of the observance of the Seventh Day Sabbath and the Bible provides examples of this (Mark 1:21, Mark 6:2, Luke 4:16). The Bible also reveals Jesus was observed very closely by the religious leaders of His time for any potential violation of Sabbath law (Matthew 12:1-8, Mark 3:1-7, Luke 13:10-17, Luke 14:1-6). If Jesus did not observe the Sabbath perfectly, He would not have been sin-less and acceptable to fulfill the will of God.

After Jesus's death and resurrection, He was with His followers for about 40 days before He ascended to Heaven; and as He spoke with them "of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God" (Acts 1:3), there is no mention of Him changing any of God's commandments.  It is noteworthy that after Jesus ascended, the Bible reveals His followers continued to observe the Seventh Day Sabbath (Acts 13:14, Acts 13:27, Acts 13:42, Acts 13:44, Acts 15:21, Acts 16:13, Acts 17:2, Acts 18:4).

There is NOT one Biblical verse that supports or justifies Sunday as replacing the Seventh Day Sabbath declared by God as His Holy Day. The Bible reveals the Seventh Day Sabbath would remain as God's declared Holy Day as Jesus clearly indicated the Seventh Day Sabbath exists at a future time in His statement, "But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day" (Matthew 24:20).

The Seventh Day Sabbath has its origin in the week of Creation (Genesis 2:3) long before the existence of the Jewish race/people, so those who stipulate the Seventh Day Sabbath requirement as applicable to only those who are Jewish cannot discern the Truth revealed in the Bible. God clearly indicated there is only One Law and that Law applies to ALL - "Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the Lord your God." (Leviticus 24:22, & Exodus 12:49, Numbers 9:14, Numbers 15:15, Numbers 15:16, Numbers 15:29, John 10:16) 

Isaiah wrote of a time in the future (after the Judgement) and about the Sabbath revealed by God in Isaiah 66:22-23, "For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord."

♥ Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. (Exodus 20:12, Deuteronomy 5:16)

Jesus expounds on God's commandment in Matthew 15:4-6 as follows:

For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

♥ Thou shalt not kill. (Exodus 20:13, Deuteronomy 5:17)

Jesus expounds on God's commandment in Matthew 5:21-24 as follows:

Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

♥ Thou shalt not commit adultery. (Exodus 20:14, Deuteronomy 5:18)

Jesus expounds on God's commandment as follows:

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. (Matthew 5:27-28)

It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. (Matthew 5:31-32)

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

♥ Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's. (Exodus 20:17, Deuteronomy 5:21)

"Jesus said, ...Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself..." (Matthew 19:18-19, Matthew 22:39, Mark 12:31, Luke 10:27)

ALL have the freewill choice to not believe or believe in God, Jesus, the Word, and repent of their transgressions/sins.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

(John 3:16)

Regardless, God's Day of Judgement upon ALL of Mankind draws nearer with each passing day. Just like the sign of the prophet Jonah, Jesus proclaimed the “Word of the Lord” of the forthcoming Judgement of God:

“Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
(Matthew 4:17)
