The sliver of the crescent New Moon was reported as observed in Israel on the evening of 2 December 2024 just after sunset (read here and here). Many accepted these reported sightings without question or validation, and used this information to determine the beginning date of the new month. A few other websites were in disagreement (read here and here). Typical Jewish websites that rely on the last President of the Sanhedrin, Hillel II, mathematically calculated Hebrew Calendar, without regard to sighting the new moon, declared 2 December 2024 as the beginning of the new month (read here). If your of the "typical" Christian faith, follow the Georgian calendar per edict of Pope Gregory XIII and disregard the Bible, then the first of the month was 1 December 2024.
“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” (1 Thessalonians 5:21). Confronted with conflicting "witnesses" and ideology, a choice must be made, hopefully with "inspired" Truth. If you follow the example and path Jesus traveled, follow the method that was used in the time of Jesus -- the council of Sanhedrin high priests and two witnesses -- research the method for yourself, for only by your discovery and discernment will you believe the Truth.
Based on my "inspired" discernment, the first day of the ninth month of the Biblical New Year was from sunset as observed from Jerusalem, Israel on 3 December to the sunset on 4 December 2024.
Below is a calendar that reflects God’s appointed Holy Days (Leviticus 23, Numbers 28-29) based on the confirmed observation of the New Moon within Israel by more than two witnesses. Take it upon yourself to prove and validate these appointed Holy Days yourself, to "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." (1 Thessalonians 5:21).

Most scientific and unbiased sights predicted the moon would not be visible to the unaided eye of an observer in Israel on 2 December.
