Feast of Trumpets

3 Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day. 4 For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob. (Psalm 81:3-4)
2 Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps. 8 And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations. 10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the Lord your God. (Numbers 10:1-10)
The Feast of Trumpets occurs at the end of summer with the approach of fall/autumn and the time of the agricultural harvest. The Bible does not specify the reason for the Feast of Trumpets beyond it is a Holy Day declared by God. The Feast of Trumpets is a singular Day that occurs on the first day of the seventh month of the Biblical Year - it is declared to be an holy convocation, a Sabbath Day, on which no work is to be performed.
What is a holy convocation or a Sabbath? If you are unfamiliar read the post First Commandment. Understand that Exodus 20:8 states, "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy." Understand that if one does NOT abide and keep the Sabbath holy, that one is committing a transgression (sin). Some will rationalize that the Feast of Trumpets is not applicable to them for whatever justification they devise, yet the Word of God contained in the Bible is very specific and clearly written that even a "child" of God can understand. Jesus stated, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." (John 14:15); "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." (Matthew 5:17); "Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 5:19); and “For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.” (Matthew 5:18). When is the first day of the seventh month of the Biblical Year on Man's Gregorian 2021 calendar? If you are unfamiliar with the meaning of the Biblical terms Day, Week, Month read the applicable linked post. Understand that the Truth reveals that the first MONTH of the Biblical New YEAR is called Abib (Exodus 12:2 Exodus 13:4) and occurs on Man's Gregorian calendar in either March or April. Understand that a MONTH is measured from the observation of the first visible appearance of the New Moon, a narrow crescent shape, to its next visible appearance. Understand that the Biblical Seventh MONTH occurs on Man's Gregorian calendar in either September or October.
The first information needed is the date/time of the New Moons for the Gregorian 2021 year. There are many websites that provide textual lunar moon phases dates (see here), some in calendar form (see here), others by a dedicated program (see here); however, the most reliable and likely most accurate data is directly from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The date and time of each new moon from 3000 B.C. to 3000 A.D. according to NASA’s/Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) DE406 file was obtained here. From the NASA file the following entry is obtained: "2459464.53676 2021 September 7 Tuesday 0h 52m 56.443s TDT". After converting this information it means the New Moon (totally dark - 0% illumination) occurs on 7 September 2021 at 03:52 Israel Daylight Time (IDT) at Jerusalem, Israel.
The next information needed is when the first visible appearance of the narrow crescent shape of the New Moon is observable from Jerusalem, Israel. The astronomical data for “Crescent Moon Visibility for Jerusalem (035° 13' E, 31° 47' N)” from website Her Majesty’s Nautical Almanac Office Websurf 2.0 indicates the crescent moon visibility at “B – Visible under perfect conditions” on Wednesday, 8 September 2021 at 18:25 (IDT), best view time. This website also provides diagrams that show the global visibility of the new crescent Moon over the first three days of the moon's lunation. The first diagram below is for 7 September 2021 and indicates the New Moon is NOT observable from Jerusalem, Israel. The second diagram below is for 8 September 2021 and indicates the New Moon IS likely to be observable from Jerusalem, Israel.
As secondary confirmation for visibility of the New Moon’s crescent, checked the website TorahCalendar.com, page “Determining the Hebrew Month” with Hebrew Month set to 7 and Gregorian Year set to 2021, which also indicated the New Moon’s crescent was visible on 8 September 2021, with sunset at ~18:54 (IDT), for about 70 minutes total. The unique graphic illustration of the Moon’s visibility below is from website TorahCalendar.com. It is important to emphasize “prove all things” (1Thessalonians 5:21) for this website does not fully align with the Truths revealed in the Bible. Other sites with pictorial representations of the New Moon’s visibility were discovered and indicated essentially the same results.
With the New Moon’s crescent visible on 8 September 2021 at approximately sunset at ~18:54 (IDT) in Jerusalem, Israel, this means the first day of the seventh month of the Biblical Year, the day of the Feast of Trumpets, begins on 8 September 2021 at sunset ~18:54 IDT and ends on 9 September 2021 at sunset ~18:52 IDT based on the Truth revealed in the Bible. Understand a Biblical DAY is simply one complete cycle from darkness (sunset/night/evening) followed by lightness (sunrise/day/morning) until darkness (sunset/night/evening) is observed again. (Genesis 1:1-5).

It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. (Psalm 89:37)
A celebration of the Feast of Trumpets is depicted in Nehemiah 8:1-12 as follows:
1 And all the people gathered themselves together as one man into the street that was before the water gate; and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded to Israel.
2 And Ezra the priest brought the law before the congregation both of men and women, and all that could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month.
3 And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law.
4 And Ezra the scribe stood upon a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose; and beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Anaiah, and Urijah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, on his right hand; and on his left hand, Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchiah, and Hashum, and Hashbadana, Zechariah, and Meshullam.
5 And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the people;) and when he opened it, all the people stood up:
6 And Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the Lord with their faces to the ground.
7 Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law: and the people stood in their place.
8 So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.
9 And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the Lord your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.
10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
11 So the Levites stilled all the people, saying, Hold your peace, for the day is holy; neither be ye grieved.
12 And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them.
It is abundantly clear from the verses above that the Feast of Trumpets is on the "first day of the seventh month" and its reason and purpose is because "This day is holy unto the Lord your God". It is a singular Day, a joyful Day to worship, give thanks and praise to the Lord for the bounty the land provides and His divine grace. One and All are to "mourn not, nor weep, neither be ye sorry" but to to eat, and to drink, and to make great mirth. While no mention of trumpets was made in the above verses, it is likely the sound of the trumpet was made for the "calling of the assembly".
The first day of any Biblical month is determined by the sighting of the first visible appearance of the narrow crescent shape of the New Moon as observed from Jerusalem, Israel. The Feast of Trumpets is on the first day of the seventh month and serves as the foundation corner stone, an unmovable fixed starting point, a visually observable sign incorruptible by Man, to determine the proper appointed times declared by the Lord for the fall holy feasts, the Day of Atonement and Feast of Tabernacles.
Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord. (Leviticus 23:27)
It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath. (Leviticus 23:32)
And ye shall have on the tenth day of this seventh month an holy convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall not do any work therein: (Numbers 29:7)
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the Lord. (Leviticus 23:34)
Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the Lord seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath. (Leviticus 23:39)
And on the fifteenth day of the seventh month ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work, and ye shall keep a feast unto the Lord seven days: (Numbers 29:12)
On the eighth day ye shall have a solemn assembly: ye shall do no servile work therein: (Numbers 29:35)
The importance of knowing the correct first day of the seventh month, the Feast of Trumpets, is ALL Holy Days, Sabbaths, festivals that follow are determined from its proper placement on God’s Biblical calendar. Incorrect determination of the correct first day of the seventh month, results in failure to observe God's appointed Holy Days and is a transgression (sin) compounded many times over.

Many of the world today are not familiar or even heard of the celebration of the Feast of Trumpets. The reason for this unfamiliarity for many is their freewill choice to not believe in God and the Truth revealed in the Bible. For some that profess a belief in God and the Truth revealed in the Bible, they remain oblivious to the Feast of Trumpets and many other holy days declared by the Lord due to their freewill choice to disregard the written Word, to pick and choose which verses to believe, or to follow the traditions of Man, their spiritual faith leaders, or their religious institutions edicts.
Few have the ability to discern the Truth clearly revealed in the Bible – if they even read the Bible. The following statement of Jesus is the Truth and is Fulfilled:
And Jesus said, the whole world and all nations shall be deceived.
(Revelation 12:9 Revelation 18:23)
The modern day Jewish observance of the Feast of Trumpets is also called "Rosh Hashanah" meaning "Head of the Year". Despite the Feast of Trumpets declared in the Bible to be on the first day of the seventh month of the Biblical Year, by the traditions of Man (rabbinic faith leaders), this same day is declared to be the first day of the first month of the Jewish New Year (civil - read more here). Equally deceived by by the traditions of Man, most of the western Christian, Catholic, Protestant, etc. faith do not recognize God's holy day of the Feast of Trumpets and celebrate their New Year on the first day of January instead of the Biblical New Year declared in the Bible.
The first day of the Biblical New Year for Man's Gregorian 2021 calendar year was from sunset of 14 March to sunset of 15 March 2021 (read more here). Challenge yourself, search the world over and discover if people or faiths were even aware of it, acknowledged it, or even celebrated the Biblical New Year identified in the Bible.
The modern day Jewish observance of the Feast of Trumpets, also called "Rosh Hashanah", is declared by the traditions of Man (rabbinic faith leaders) to be celebrated on Man's Gregorian 2021 year calendar starting on 6 September at sunset to sunset on 8 September 2021 - two complete days (read more here, here, and here). At a time in the ancient past the Feast of Trumpets was celebrated for two complete days despite this Holy Day declared as a one day feast in the Word of God. The reason the Jewish people celebrated the Feast of Trumpets for two complete days is no longer valid, but adopted as a "de facto rule" by the traditions of Man (rabbinic faith leaders) despite the Truth revealed in the Word of God.
By the traditions of Man (rabbinic and some Christian faith leaders), the first day of the first Jewish month (1 Tishre) of their New Year and the official day of the Feast of Trumpets is from 6 September at sunset to sunset on 7 September 2021 (see calendar here, here, here, etc.) This deceptive and false date is a full two days before the New Moon is visible on 8 September 2021 at approximately sunset in Jerusalem, Israel - the true first day of the seventh month of the Biblical Year, the day of the Feast of Trumpets, which begins on 8 September 2021 at sunset ~18:54 IDT and ends on 9 September 2021 at sunset ~18:52. Those who adhere to the traditions of Man abandon the Truths revealed in the word of God.
