The sliver of the crescent New Moon was NOT observed in Israel on the evening of 12 September 2026 (the 29th day of the sixth month) just after sunset as was predicted (read here, here, here, here, and here). By default, this makes the first day of the seventh month of the Biblical New Year from sunset as observed from Jerusalem, Israel on 13 September 2026 to the sunset on 14 September 2026.
A sighting observation was later reported by Yoel Havei of Facebook page "Hebrew in Israel" read here. About four hours later, Facebook page "Ralph Mikel Yehudah Rapuano" posted a firsthand report of the sighting, read here. Read it critically and decide for yourselves if you deem this report acceptable. I researched this extensively and concluded the report was not reliable for many reasons (read here - tbd) while many others accepted its validity without question.
