During the Flood of Noah's time, the Dove returned to the Ark with a freshly-plucked olive leaf indicating the waters had subsided from the Earth (Genesis 8:11). The Dove is a symbol of love, purity, holiness and God - “the Spirit of God descending like a dove” (Matthew 3:16).
