USCG Certificate of Documentation 6th Submission

Sep 12, 2015

  • Action: To Do List item A0002 – Apply for USCG Certificate of Documentation.
  • Completed:  In Progress
  • Cost: $685.89

On 10 September 2015 contacted the AMSA Shipping Registration Office and asked if they could issue a new Registration Certificate in only Margaret Jesson’s name with the understanding it would be invalid instantly.  They stated this was not possible as the Register had been closed out for the yacht Indra as indicated in email below.

Thank you for your reply.

I am unable to issue a new Registration Certificate in Margaret Jesson’s name as the Register has been ‘closed off’.

I can confirm that no certificate was issued in Margaret Jesson’s name because the transmission of ownership and the closure of registration were registered simultaneously.

The best I can do is provide you with a certified transaction of the transmission of ownership, which appears in the above attachment.

They offered to provide a certified transaction of the Transmission of Ownership which I accepted.   The cost for this document by email only was AUD $21.00 (US $15.03) and was received same day.

So I tried again to explain to the NVDC with even more basic descriptions and explanations on this submission with more references to 46 CFR requirements.  I minced no words and clearly indicated that the Apostille Australian documents submitted were legal and proper, and MUST be accepted, or they are in violation of a international treaty.  This discourse with the NVDC was beyond rationale imagination and was literally ridiculous.

On 12 September 2015 resubmitted application to USCG NVDC and requested it be reviewed by a supervisor.
